INTERNET CONNECTION - Can I use a Cell phone connected to my notebook in order to get a high speed connection?
Gabriel G asked:
Well, I was wondering about connecting to the internet without using a Wi-Fi network. Can I connect a cell phone to my notebook and get a high speed internet connection? How is that? Could I use it while in motion, for instance within my moving car? Thanks in advance.

mobile phone service providers have internet access feature through GPRS which can be used from a laptop, but the internet speed is limited. You can ask the help desk of your mobile service provider regarding the maximum internet access speed provided by them.

And then there are those cards that you simply insert in the laptop and…
Cell phones are capable of connecting to the internet.
You will need to purchase a data adapter from your provider.
I don’t think you will get very high data rates from this configuration, but you should get around 56Kb per second at least.
Not all cell phones have this option available.
The configuration will look and feel somewhat like a dialup modem to all applications on your pc.
Well we checked into this at work, I think 56k is about all you are going to get. They are not designed to go any faster. Also they want you to buy their highspeed wireless PCMCIA cards.
